Do the Quiz

...to see which party they reckon you are most affiliated with. Interesting results, I'm not sure I entirely disagree- it made me 77% National, 65% Labour, NZ First and Progressives, 58% Green and 49% Act

Did also wonder where the Maori Party were on it.

The Election.

This election is doing my head in.

I've always said if you don't vote you lose the right to complain about what follows. However, the standard of politicians in NZ is at rock bottom this time round. A few months ago I might have trusted the New Labour Party in disguise, led by John Key. However, as the attached You Tube shows, he's just as bad as Clark, Hide, Peters and the rest when it comes to lying and misleading the public.

I am seriously looking for the "No Confidence in Any of the Clowns" box to tick at the moment. HELP!

Take it away David Bowie....

Patterns in the Thread

Sometimes the universe just leaps put and yells at you. This year is the year of twin associations. I'm sure you notice more twins when you have them yourself (god bless the little gems) but I really do seem to be finding its happening more than the norm.

Today was the latest example when I ran into a bloke I finished the Kepler Challenge with a few years back- used to bowl fast for the Black Caps, Geoff Allott. Turns out he's got twin lads now too. Add that to the three immediate workmates, 4 close friends, and an armada of folk who we've met this year who are twins, or have them (or triplets!) and it suddenly seems theres twins everywhere.
At the Project Management Conference in the Jaffabowl last week I inadvertently sat next to another dad of twins. Then by chance a dad of triplets(!) joined our "Multiple Birth Club" table. Now thats beyond a fluke surely?

Our current mission is to work out once and for all if they lads are identical. The literature is conflicting, but its going to be worth finding out, if not just for future health issues then our current mental stability!

Jihad

Just calling a post here "Jihad" is bound to increase the viewership of my blog, at least by a few CIA agents anyway...

My good mates Chris and Stacey recently left Dunedin for slightly warmer climes in Abu Dhabi. It looks like they are having a grand old time, breaking the place in with raging success.

However, I am a a little concerned how quickly they have signed up to being gun toting locals, I suspect behaviour like this will be frowned upon when they return to NZ!

Kepler The Fifth Training

Well, we are into it. Its getting hard. Only 60 sleeps to go....

But Madman Marvin and I had a fantastic run up in Auckland on Sunday, which was basically a reprise of a gallop I did last year for Routeburn training. Except with wind, mist, seals, millions of washed up jellyfish, and a dead pilot whale baby. Bit sad...

Nice place for some exercise though and its stunning to have such a place so close to a big city.

Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

As we enter music festival season I've been dwelling a bit on who the most impressive band I've heard is. Those who know me will see no surprise in hearing that I've confirmed that band is in fact the incomparable Iron Maiden. After 30 years they are still putting out stunningly crafted rock music, and you could even argue they are as relevant as ever. You just need to look around Youtube a bit to see the legions of fans that rave about them, along with the huge crowds they pull the world over.

Heres a clip from their most recent album A Matter of Life and Death. Its a stunner, and I can honestly say its the first time I've seen a music vid go nuclear!

Take it away Bruce, Steve and the lads...Up the Mighty Irons!
