New Stadium at Lancaster Park

Well folks, we can now show the viewing public our fantastic new World Cup stadium here in Christchurch. Its very special.

Its going to be called the Sir Reuben Thorne Stadium, although apparently you can only see it if you are Cantabrian

By the way...hows Eden Parks upgrade going Jaffas?

The Drought is Over!

Wow, 130mm of rain here in a week, outstanding! We had forgotten what rain looked like. Thats about a quarter of ChCh's annual quota

And the sun is back today, the Crusaders are the top of the table, and all is right with the world

Tricky bit of parking...

According to One News it is going to take 3 days to extract it. I hope they can still see the TV for the cricket!

Endless Summer?

Most people know I'm a weather freak. So its been a fun summer to watch for me this year.

It seems we've swapped climates with Aussie this year. From all accounts it hasn't stopped raining in Sydney and Brisbane since Xmas, whereas in most of Aotearoa we are gripped in the driest and hottest summer in years. Here in ChCh we've frequently gone into the 30's temperature wise and even been as high as 35 a couple of times. My eyes are peeled for Kangaroos and Koala Bears in the backcountry just in case.

Not so good for the farmers at the moment though, a few days rain would be well and truly welcomed
