New Stadium at Lancaster Park

Well folks, we can now show the viewing public our fantastic new World Cup stadium here in Christchurch. Its very special.


Its going to be called the Sir Reuben Thorne Stadium, although apparently you can only see it if you are Cantabrian

New Sports Blog

Well most of you know I have a tendancy to prattle on about sports too much, and therefore I do make a conscious effort not to innundate this site with too much sportstalk.

However, for those of you who are keen...I draw you to the attention of Mr Martin Devlin's 'newish' blog. To the great unwashed, Devlin is the former sometimes outspoken breakfast host of Radiosport- and many of us wish he would go back there to his old seat.

The Weekend's Sport

Some observations:

• The Crusaders have enough depth to limp through to when the 7 'reconditioned' All Blacks return, who will see them into the playoffs. And we know what usually happens from there.
• Hats off to the Jaffa's for turning up in droves to Eden Park for rugby this early.
• How will Australia perform if Ricky Ponting gets injured? Did England give us a clue on that the other night?
• What have Lou Vincent and Jacob Oram been taking?
• Is Sevens a sport? Or something altogether different?
