"I Wrote This Song For You....

....But it took a while to get it right"

Yup, Sunday in the sun at the BFM Summer series was a mint way to get recalibrate the amount of blood in my alcohol system after a busy night at Weddingville. Congrats to Nick and Sophie, a wonderful day. You have to watch the little ones at weddings these days...the kids of today are far too knowlegable about the important things in life....

As for the Summer Series gig, the highlight was SJD, complete with NZ's hardest working musician Mr Don McGlashan. Lots of new songs....including the carefully selected post title here.

Has NZ music ever been in such good shape?

Q: Has NZ music ever been in such good shape?
A: Who are the new kids making a splash? or is it the just the already successful guys like SJD and the ever-present Don McG keeping the boat afloat?
I really miss the diversity of the B Net for sure.

Hi smoothfluid,

I have it on good authority that SINATE ! is probably the nexy best thing to explode onto the world stage from this part of the world

Actually Rat I think Smoothfluid is probably still smarting from me beating him to marrying Ruth Carr. Haha...Sinate might not be his scene (thrash and all) however Mr Smoothfluid, kudo's goes to you for being such a visionary with the mighty Kasabian- see BDO thread!

NZ tunes I'm into at the moment are The Mint Chicks- bratty, punky rock arrogance; Motorcade are impressive in an Interpol way; Little Bushman are tops (Warren Maxwell from Fat Freddies off on a tangent); Sarah Brown- a jazzed up young FOX from Blenheim ; and yes the usual suspects have put some good new ones out lately-ish, especially the Feelers, Shapeshifter, Dimmer and Bic Runga, along with some new outfit called Crowded House who have a forthcoming new apparently. Oh...and Mr Puffin, SOON!

Whats happening in the Mothercountry that we need to know about Mr Smoothy?

Ha ha ha ha

Kasabian, where you warn a fellow forum poster that the gig 'will go off' when standing at the front of 15,000 people and looking at the face of terror when it does "go off".

K I LL indeed
